It’s very difficult to figure out all the numbers presented by the board. At the meetings I have attended PARC members continue to question the Board on its figures & assumptions regarding future enrollment through 2015. As you know, the PARC process is concerned with program viability and sustainability into the future.
I have heard about increasing student age population in Clearview; decreasing student age population in the balance of South-East Oakville. Yet, when I check the figures from the HDSB website, titled, Capital Plan V3, Final Version, pages 20-22, referred to as PE17. It calls for declining projections through 2015.
As a backup I reviewed the Halton Catholic District School Board’s Capital Plan, titled, Good Places to Learn Capital Plan Submission and Financial Analysis , see page 29. The HCDSB believes both of their school’s, St. Lukes in Clearview, and St. Vincent’s in the balance of South East Oakville, are facing declining enrollment in both areas. Please note their catchment is much larger running from East of Bronte Creek. South East OakvilleTotal Population 25,125
Clearview 6,865 Cornwall: south 18,260
