The Halton Regional Police Service will be undertaking a high enforcement, educational traffic initiative that will commence in Oakville on Tuesday September 8th, 2009, with the beginning of the school year. Safe Start will conclude on September 18th.

The project "Safe Start" which began in 2006 will again be undertaken to remind our driving public of the need to be courteous to other drivers and our children, particularly at this time when they make their way back to school.

The officers will be focusing on the five "S's":
1. Speeding
2. Seatbelts
3. Stop Signs
4. School Zones
5. School Buses
